Description

Objective:

To familiarize students with electronic production procedures. Students will acquire skills in typesetting, pagination, image reproduction, color specifications, trapping procedures, binding and finishing techniques.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand how to order a job from the printer (to prepare order form)
  • To maintain proper backup system of files and jobs, binding and finishing techniques
  • Familiarity with prepress bureaus and printers
  • Prepare files for print. Skills will include: proper preparation of computer file, scanning images, typesetting, image reproduction, color specifications, trapping procedures, closing files Postscript/PDF, and proofing bluelines, color printouts, films
