Description

Objective:

To provide students with the most current, foundational knowledge, training, and competency testing to improve their practice as professional certified personal fitness trainers.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Determine a realistic and healthy weight range for a client
  • Understand the effects of common nutritional supplements
  • Understand and explain the principles and benefits of utilizing exercise variety
  • Assess a client's body composition and be able to explain and evaluate exercise and diet for safe weight management. In addition, students will be able to design three-, four-, and five-day workout programs, and structure a running workout for various fitness levels

  • The four components of R.E.A.D
  • The pros and cons of popular diets and the effects of common drugs and nutritional supplements
  • Proper form for running including the proper shoe and running apparel
  • Injury-prevention techniques
