Description

Objective:

The course objective is to enable students to analyze the various aspects of pharmacology including the medications prescribed for the treatment of conditions and diseases of the Nervous System. To evaluate drug actions, uses, administration and interactions. Apply basic mathematics of drug dosages, principles of pharmacology, a review of Nervous body system and medical terminology.

  • Identify classifications of drugs commonly used in Neurological conditions
  • Determine the uses, general drug action, adverse reactions, contraindications, precautions and interactions of common medications
  • Explain the special considerations required for drug therapy in older adults
  • Describe the functions of the nervous system
