Objective:

The course objective is to enable students to analyze the various aspects of pathophysiology and medication use as it pertains to the treatment of conditions and diseases of the Cardiovascular Systems.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Determine the uses, general drug action, adverse reactions, contraindications, precautions and interactions of common medications
  • Describe the functions of the cardiovascular systems
  • Identify classifications of drugs commonly used in Cardiovascular conditions
  • Explain the special considerations required for drug therapy in older adults
