Description

Objective:

The course objective is to introduce students to how mobile and wireless systems work, what technologies are used in wireless local area networks (LAN), and how mobility will influence applications, security, and IP networks. The course follows a traditional bottom-up approach to cover wireless transmission technologies, medium access control protocols, wireless LAN, mobile network layer, mobile transport layer, and some wireless application protocols. Technologies used in mobile phone and satellite systems are also briefly discussed.
