Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide the student the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide basic canine care and training and to deploy canines for explosives detection.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate officer safety techniques while utilizing their canine
  • Ensure a passive response to alerts to protect property and evidence
  • Care for and provide proper treatment to their canine partner
  • Demonstrate proper disciplinary methods to maximize use of the canine
