Description

Objective:

To examine, from a management perspective, the fundamental systems of managerial accounting based upon an overview of accounting principles and conventions currently observed in business and industry. Attention is given to the preparation, analysis, and use of financial statements, budgeting, and planning and control systems.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and control the costing of materials, labor, and overhead
  • Analyze proper inventory controls and just-in-time concepts
  • Identify the functions of managerial accounting in the planning and control of organizations
  • Recognize principles and procedures for budgeting, variance analysis, and cost-volume-profit reports
