Description

Objective:

To provide students with the key insights and skills for executive leadership within the federal government.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Analyze the elements of personal wellness and work-life balance as it affects leadership and effectiveness
  • Design a strategic plan for continuing leadership and learning development in the focus areas of the course
  • Analyze the impact of events/trends in national and world affairs and identify the strategic importance of these for the federal government
  • Analyze diverse personal and workplace applications of Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
  • To recognize the social and scientific foundations of emotional intelligence and apply these in personal, team and organizational contexts
  • Identify approaches and techniques to coaching others
  • Develop and apply coaching strategies to a variety of workplace situations
  • Explain the concept of constructive conflict and relate these techniques to personal, team and organizational challenges
  • Recognize skills in operating in the dynamic policy environment of the federal government
