The course objective is to offer students a multi-faceted overview of organizational systems and best practices, and a useful framework for leading organizations into the future. Experienced mid-level managers can assess and improve their organizations' overall effectiveness by learning how to help guide the organization during times of unprecedented change, challenge, and uncertainty. Participants learn that effective organizational leadership entails both a thorough understanding of the organization, and an understanding of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that they bring to that leadership role. Through presentations, small-group work, and practice participants learn how to engage workers and foster innovative thinking and action.
