Description

Objective:

To provide Federal Women in managerial positions the opportunity to practice and improve their leadership skills.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Practice coaching communications to improve employee effectiveness
  • Evaluate personal leadership issues and devise a plan for improvement
  • Evaluate current leadership theories and how these impact women in Federal leadership roles
  • Apply emotional intelligence for personal change
  • Differentiate among behavioral styles
  • Compare the types of power and determine when power or influence is appropriate
  • Distinguish among the four leadership strategies and how culture and style fit with in type, recognize appropriate assertive behavior and apply these to managing conflict
  • Understand how space medicine has improved the knowledge of women's health issues
