Description

Objective:

The course objective is to empower learners with the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to perform many of the job performance requirements (JPRs) of a Youth Firesetter Intervention Specialist as outlined in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1035, Standard on Fire and Life Safety Educator, Public Information Officer, Youth Firesetter Intervention Specialist and Youth Firesetter Program Manager Professional Qualifications, 2015 Edition.

  • Analyze national trends in youth fire setting and compare those trends to the statistics from their home communities
  • Classify the typologies of youth fire setting
  • Evaluate intervention options to mitigate youth fire setting behavior
