Description

Objective:

The course objective is to train non-Spanish-speaking Air Interdiction Agents (AIAs), Marine Interdiction Agents (MIAs) and Air Enforcement Officers (AEOs) to communicate using the Spanish language to support CBP's anti-terrorism mission at U. S. borders including air-to-ground and maritime interception of people and contraband crossing the border and to provide support for CBP's traditional work such as border interceptions unrelated to terrorism.

Learning Outcomes:

  • the student will be able to use the Spanish language to communicate with travelers to solicit basic information related to general aviation documentation, vessel document checks, travel, immigration and customs and to resolve high and low risk or threat encounters. This is to support the CBP Air and Marine mission in the effort to protect the American people and critical infrastructure as a member of an integrated and coordinated air and marine force to detect, interdict, and prevent acts of terrorism arising from unlawful movement of people, illegal drugs, and other contraband moving toward or crossing the borders of the United States.
