Description

Objective:

The course objective is to conduct training of USBP canine teams in accordance with the policies, guidelines, and procedures in USBP Policy and U.S. Case Law.

Learning Outcomes:

  • provide mandated maintenance training and recertification of canine teams
  • identify the procedures for ensuring safe deployment of canine teams
  • be able to identify and apply proper case law in the deployment of detection canines
  • provide technical assistance to field commands in the deployment and administration of a canine program.
  • interpret the instincts, drives and character traits seen in all canines as well as the causes of aggressive behavior and the precautions you should take with a canine
