Description

Objective:

To provide training to prepare and review ammunition and explosives standard operating procedures (SOP)'s in accordance with Federal, Department of Defense, Department of the Army, and U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC) regulatory requirements to personnel engaged in ammunition and explosives operations.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Relate to the key definitions and terminology
  • Describe the purpose of performing risk management to ammunition and explosive operations
  • List the five (5) steps of the risk management process
  • Identify credible (potential) energy sources and release stimuli (cause) associated with ammunition operations
  • Identify hazards associated with ammunition operations
  • Determine who is responsible for maintaining SOP and enforcing its procedures and when an SOP may be implemented
  • As related to risk management, interpret technical and regulatory guidance
  • Determine the appropriate level of authority for risk management decisions
  • Understand the rationale for risk management for ammunition and explosives operations
  • Follow the steps of the risk management process to generate a hazard analysis
