Description

Objective:

The course objective is to focus on the practices needed to effectively manage a master planning program. These practices include accomplishing planning efforts, contracting for planning services, balancing contract efforts with in-house capabilities, evaluating work, and ensuring stakeholder involvement.

  • Identify roles of a project manager
  • Recognize the reasoning behind master planning and the ten planning strategies in the united facilities criteria (ufc) 2-100-01, installation master planning
  • Identify the planning proposal and selection process for federal architecture-engineering services
  • Identify how to build support for the planning process through effective installation outreach
  • Identify the process and products of a vision plan
  • Evaluate how the DoD's 10 master planning strategies are applied in the host city's planning and design efforts
  • Identify the elements and justifications for component plans
  • Identify the qualities of effective project management
  • Identify the relationship between the project manager and design agent within multiple execution models and contracts
