Description

Objective:

The course provides the baseline instructional delivery skills necessary for ensuring consistent delivery and high standards of instruction. At the end of this course students should be able to successfully teach a 30-minute lesson to the minimum standards.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Emulate characteristics of an effective instructor who displays confidence, subject matter expertise, and promotes in a manner that displays confidence, and promotes learner engagement
  • Deliver training while adhering to the approved order of instruction, in accordance with Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction and TSA training protocols
  • Employ classroom management techniques in a manner that reduces or eliminates disruptions and behavioral issues
  • Employ assessment techniques consistent with the applicable domains of learning in accordance with Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy and TSA evaluation guidelines
  • Identify the importance of instructor ethics in training in accordance with ethical principles developed by the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS)
