Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide the foundational training for New Hire and Returning TSO's to ensure mission and vision success. Additionally, significant improvements in TSA climate and culture can manifest through a systematic centralized Academy training program.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognize Prohibited and HAZMAT items based on shape, color, and density using X-ray analysis techniques
  • Operate the X-ray Simulator
  • Explain how transgender individuals are screened in accordance with Screening Checkpoint SOP guidelines
  • Perform additional screening procedures for individuals
  • Summarize AT procedures
  • Demonstrate basic operation of checkpoint equipment
  • Perform AIT, WTMD, PAT-DOWN, and ETD procedures for individuals with disabilities or medical conditions and their medical equipment/devices
  • Analyze screening checkpoint standard operating procedures and appropriate professional engagement skills.
