Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide Transportation Security Managers (TSMs) skills in administration, technical proficiency and operations. The course continues developing them as leaders with the ability to manage risk, personnel, and the security/safety of all stakeholders and the traveling public. It also prepares TSMs to perform their current duties and prepares them for future opportunities as a leader in this agency.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain exemplary leadership as a TSM in accordance with “The Leadership Challenge” by Kouzes Posner.
  • Apply the tools in accordance with the Continuous Process Improvement (CPI)
  • Apply risk mitigation strategies when managing security operations in accordance with TSA’s tactical Response Plans
  • Interpret the data using metrics in managing screening operations in accordance with predetermined operational rates and standards.
  • Apply appropriate metrics to improve efficiencies and effectiveness in accordance with Operational Performance Metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Define the Red Team purpose and actions in accordance with current TSA Inspections policies and procedures
  • Identify Passenger Screening Canine (PSC) search techniques in accordance with the Canine Enhanced Screening (CES) Standard Operating Procedures (SO) and the Alternate Operating Procedure (AOP)
  • Apply delegation and coaching skills for developing the leadership capacity of supervisors
