Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide comprehensive training to advance skills and qualification on a national level, builds a trusted workforce of landscape professionals.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Correctly mow, edge, and trim turf areas
  • Correctly plant, cultivate, maintain flowerbeds and potted plants
  • Correctly install trees and scrubs
  • Apply fertilizers
  • Read, analyze and measure job sites and blueprints
  • Clean paving and hardscaping with hand and power tools and equipment
  • Use recognized safety techniques to organize and maintain equipment, tools and materials
  • Correctly weed, rake and cultivate shrub, groundcover and turf areas
  • Apply specific herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides
  • Correctly water, prune, fertilize, mulch perform leaf removal and maintain existing landscape
  • Program automatic and manual watering schedules
  • Make minimum adjustments and repairs to irrigation and/or low voltage lighting systems
  • Correctly identify the plants and flowers used on a project
