Description

Objective:

The course objective is for learners to expand on their project management and leadership skills by creating and implementing a Better Community: Better World Project. This course allows learners to make a positive impact on their community. Learners will review the steps required to complete a Better World Project and will be able to identify the key components of the Better Community: Better World Project. Learners will conduct research, engage in design thinking, investigate topic areas, and prepare for their Better World Project proposal. Once the proposal is approved, learners will identify the resources needed to complete their Better World Project, review the importance of networking and mentorship during the project process, collect evidence of their progress, and implement their Better World Project. After completing their Better World Project, learners will critically analyze the outcomes of their Better World Project by completing reflection activities and writing a reflection paper. At the end of the course, learners will demonstrate what they accomplished with their Better World Project, create an Impact Report, present their project, and share their Better World Project outcomes with their community using two different communication tools.
