Objective:

Upon the successful completion of this course, participants will be able to describe techniques that prevent, protect and mitigate against, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, human-caused, and technological disasters affecting electric power facilities and systems.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will be able to identify basic aspects of electric power systems.
  • Participants will be able to identify potential threats to electric power systems and facilities.
  • Participants will be able to identify the planning activities involved when preparing for disasters.
  • Participants will be able to discuss methods for disaster prevention, protection, and mitigation.
