Description

Objective:

The course objective is to give students a deeper understanding of the fields of victimology and criminology. Students will learn about the history of victimology and the victims' rights movement; how to analyze trends in and consequences of crime and victimization; to differentiate between types of crimes and to recognize victimization in different settings.

  • explain the concept of victimology in terms of the history, theories, typologies, and factors
  • dissect various types of crime data to identify the extent, trends, and patterns of crime victimization
