Description

Objective:

The course objective is to apply statistical principles to solve problems, analyze trends, and interpret real-world data for informed decision-making.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Interpret data displays such as stem and leaf plots, histograms, box plots, bar graphs, and two-way tables.
  • Compute statistical measures, including central tendency (mean, median, mode) and dispersion (standard deviation and variance).
  • Interpret the properties of binomial probabilities and normal distributions.
  • Describe relationships between confidence intervals, sample size, and sample means.
  • Conduct hypothesis testing for small and large independent samples, matched pairs, and proportions.
  • Identify the differences between various types of data and statistics.
  • Represent relationships between variables using scatter plots, correlation coefficients, and simple linear regression.
  • Apply basic set theory to determine the probability of events
  • Analyze discrete and continuous probability distributions.
