Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide students with an overview of personal health, including diet, nutrition, and fitness as they pertain to the individual in the context of the general population. Throughout the course selected practical experiences, such as a health and fitness assessment, daily caloric intake/expenditure and exercise program are required of students to help guide their learning process. This course explores numerous topics related to overall lifestyle, health, fitness, and aging. Specific topics focus on understanding personal choice and the responsibility for health and wellness through lifestyle choices.
