Objective:

Learning Outcomes:

• Use SQL to query a database
• Use SQL SELECT statements including arithmetic expressions, NULL values, column aliases, and literal strings
• Write SQL queries using set operators including UNION, UNION ALL, and INTERSECT
• Describe the DDL database objects and the associated naming rules
• Selectively return only a subset of rows, sorted and customized using various SQL clauses and statements
• Insert, update, delete, and truncate rows using associated SQL statements
• Use conversion functions and conditional expressions including, TO_CHAR, TO_NUMBER TO_DATE, NULLIF and COALESCE
• Use join statements to view information across multiple tables
• Use data dictionary views such as USER OBJECTS and ALL_OBJECTS
• Use the CREATE TABLE SQL command to create new tables in the database
• Define constraints such as NOT NULL, UNIQUE, PRIMARY KEY, FOREIGN KEY, and CHECK
• Use various SQL*Plus commands
• Use group functions such as AVG, SUM, MIN, MAX, COUNT, and COUNT DISTINCT
• Use subqueries
• Create users and grant privileges
