Description

Objective:

The course objective is for learners to apply the scientific method, explore phenomena, and exercise critical thinking skills using virtual lab simulations from Labster. This lab course reinforces topics from the Anatomy & Physiology I lecture course, such as homeostatic control, body planes and sections, skin layers and organ anatomy, skeletal muscle movement, and the gross functions of the nervous system. To meet the lab requirement, students write lab reports and answer formative quiz questions.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the basics of science labs, the scientific method, and lab reports
  • Evaluate muscle tissue types and their arrangement in functional groups
  • Demonstrate laboratory safety, homeostatic control, anatomical positioning, and osmosis in hypotonic and hypertonic solutions
  • Analyze cell types and layers of the epidermis
