Description

Objective:

The course objective is for students to gain practical skills for using generative AI with confidence in work, school, and everyday life. Designed to be accessible and nontechnical, the course explains how AI works, what it can and cannot do, and how to write effective prompts that produce useful results. From there, students practice using AI to find and explain information, generate ideas, improve communication, solve problems, explore careers, and analyze basic data. Throughout the course, students evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy, bias, relevance, and appropriateness while examining privacy, ethics, academic integrity, automation, and AI’s growing role across industries and communities. By applying these skills to real-world scenarios and a hands-on project, students strengthen their ability to make informed choices and use AI with confidence and sound judgment.
