Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide an introduction to the development of CAD drawings using the AutoCAD software application.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Set viewports, display, layers, linetypes, and other drafting options
  • Construct and modify geometric objects, lines, and text
  • Construct complex geometric figures, use advanced object-selection methods, and modify objects
  • Create and modify layouts, floating viewports, and plot style tables
  • Plan, set up, and configure plotters and sheets for plotting drawings
  • Define, edit, and control the display of attributes
  • Attach, detach, and change the path for reference files
  • Manage, edit, and clip external references
  • Use the utility commands, which include drawing and object properties, the geometric calculator, display controls, and custom settings
  • Work with AutoCAD on the Internet, create and use hyperlinks, and manage DWF files
  • Use the Visual LISP programming system
  • Start the AutoCAD program, use the help facilities, menus, dialog boxes, and set menu options
  • Create and modify multilines and styles, use grips and filters, and change the system variables
  • Draw linear, angular, baseline, and other types of dimensions
  • Edit dimension text
  • Create and modify dimension styles
  • Use the hatching commands, define hatching boundaries, and modify hatching patterns
  • Create and insert block references
  • Use the AutoCAD DesignCenter to manage the content of a drawing, and create shortcuts to resources in folders, drives, network, and Internet locations
  • Create and edit objects in 3D and explain the mass properties of a solid
  • Customize the AutoCAD program to suit your specific needs
