Description

Objective:

The course objective is to familiarize divers with the knowledge, skills, techniques and procedures necessary to safely plan, organize and execute search and recovery dives.

Learning Outcomes:

  • demonstrate the knowledge, skills, techniques and procedures necessary to safely plan, organize and execute search and recovery dives
  • explain and execute swimming search patterns using a compass and natural navigation
  • explain and demonstrate the procedures employed to locate large and small objects using various search patterns
  • demonstrate proper use of a lift bag for the recovery of large or heavy objects
  • demonstrate how to plan a search operation based on facts gathered about a lost object prior to dive
