Description

Objective:

The course objective to qualify divers to plan and make no-stop dives to the maximum depth of the Type R rebreather unit or gas they are using, or 30 meters/100 feet (40 meters/130 feet if they are also certified as a PADI Deep Diver), whichever is less, in conditions comparable to or better than those in which they are trained and have experience.

Learning Outcomes:

  • explain the need for, and demonstrate the use of, additional equipment required for diving deeper than 18 meters/60 feet
  • explain and demonstrate how to plan and make dives using a Type R rebreather as deep as 30 meters/100 feet (or to 40 meters/130 feet if also certified as a PADI Deep Diver)
  • explain how to recognize and respond appropriately to problems and emergencies that occur deeper than 18 meters/60 feet
