Description

Objective:

The course objective is to assure candidates understand the PADI Freediver program structure, philosophy, requirements and procedures; prepare candidates to teach courses that are low-stress, performance based, safety-oriented and learner-centered; refine candidates' freediving skills to a role-model level; and provide candidates with practical suggestions for organizing and marketing their courses.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Complete the required confined water workshops including static apnea, rescues, and dynamic apnea
  • To successfully complete the course, the instructor candidate must complete the 3 required Freediver Instructor Training Course open water workshops: Workshop 1 – Weighting and Free Immersion – the candidate will conduct at least two complete teaching presentations for free immersion. Workshop 2 – Constant Weight Freedives – the candidate will conduct least two complete teaching presentations for constant weight freediving and demonstrate a constant weight freedive to at least 20 metres/65 feet. Workshop 3 – Open Water Rescues – the candidate will conduct a teaching presentation for an LMC rescue and a black-out rescue. The candidate will also be able to demonstrate a role-model rescue of a freediver who has blacked-out underwater at 15 metres/50 feet.
