Description

Objective:

The course objective is to familiarize divers with the knowledge, skills, techniques and procedures necessary to safely plan, organize, and participate in wreck dives.

Learning Outcomes:

  • explain and demonstrate the planning, organization, procedures and techniques of wreck diving
  • identify the hazards of wreck diving and demonstrate the techniques and procedures required to minimize those hazards
  • explain and demonstrate wreck mapping techniques
  • explain and demonstrate the use of special wreck diving equipment
  • explain the historical value of wrecks
  • explain how to plan and conduct wreck exploration dives to a maximum linear depth of 130 feet from the surface
