Description

Objective:

The course objective is to qualify divers to plan and make no stop dives to a maximum depth of 18 meters/60 feet, and perform post-dive care, with the specific Type R rebreather they train with during the course, in conditions generally comparable to or better than those in which they train.

Learning Outcomes:

  • explain and demonstrate how to prepare and pre-dive check a Type R rebreather following accepted practices and the specific manufacturer's requirements for the unit
  • explain and demonstrate how to dive with a Type R rebreather using effective buoyancy control, depth and time management and generally effective application of the dive skills taught in the course, or prerequisite to the course; explain and demonstrate how to perform post dive care and maintain a Type R rebreather following accepted practices and specific manufacturer requirements for the unit
  • explain how to recognize and respond appropriately to problems and emergencies that occur during setup, diving or post dive
