Description

Objective:

The course objective is to familiarize divers with the knowledge, skills, techniques and procedures necessary to safely plan, organize, and conduct dry suit dives.

Learning Outcomes:

explain and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, procedures and techniques used when diving in dry suits
explain the exposure suit options available to divers and how to choose one appropriate for the diving environment
explain and contrast the various types of dry suits and their features
explain the factors to consider when choosing important dry suit accessories including undergarments, gloves, hoods, and boots
explain and demonstrate the recommended procedures for proper dry suit care, maintenance, and storage
explain and demonstrate the correct procedures for proper weighting and buoyancy control when diving in a dry suit
explain the causes, prevention, and recommended techniques for handling excess gas in the legs of a dry suit and a flooded dry suit
