Description

Objective:

To provide, for entry-level personnel or as a refresher for experienced personnel, an understanding of procurement processes and procedures required for emergency incident situations, such as forest fires, hurricanes and floods.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe the incident management organization
  • Identify the roles, responsibilities and authorities of major players in the incident procurement function
  • Identify terminology and reference tools pertinent to incident procurement
  • Describe the process and procedure for ordering equipment
  • Explain the standards of conduct that apply to the acquisition process
  • Describe ordering processes, sources of supply and procurement methods applicable to incidents
  • Describe proper handling of personal property items procured for an incident
  • Describe the process for land rental agreements
  • Identify close-out issues related to incident procurements, including records management, payments, claims and disputes, and transition processes/procedures
