Description

Objective:

To provide intermediate and experienced contracting personnel with an intensive examination of the Life Cycle of contracting; this course focuses on award.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Justify awards on a sole-source basis when appropriate
  • Determine contract types that most appropriately allocate the risk performance and provide incentives for contractor performance
  • Debrief competitors
  • Evaluate proposals, negotiate necessary revisions, and develop a sound contract
  • Determine what, if any, labor laws and regulations apply
  • Determine whether direct costs for labor and materials, indirect costs, and profit or fees are proper and reasonable
  • Handle protests
