Description

Objective:

NHA’s Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) certification may be earned by eligible candidates who pass the CPCT/A exam, which is designed to assess knowledge and skills associated with critical competencies of entry-level patient care technician/assistant. The exam is comprised of 4-option multiple choice questions (100 items, 20 pretest), with a time limit of 2 hours. The exam is administered by trained proctors either at PSI test sites or NHA-authorized test sites at schools, military bases, and other approved locations. To be eligible for the exam, candidates must either complete a training program or have relevant work experience. NHA does not provide qualifying training.

Skills Measured:

The CPCT/A exam measures knowledge associated with critical competencies of entry-level patient care technicians: patient care; compliance, safety, and professional responsibility; infection control; phlebotomy; and EKG.
