Description

Objective:

The course objective is to equip participants with the skills to strengthen existing relationships and build new partnerships with community-based protection, response, and recovery organizations, enabling schools to more effectively plan for, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from emergencies following the guidance outlined in FEMA’s Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG) 101 for developing an emergency operations plan.

  • Leverage relationships with community-based organizations to support comprehensive school emergency planning efforts.
  • Conduct assessments to identify risks, capabilities, and gaps in school emergency preparedness.
  • Develop or refine an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) tailored to the specific needs of your school.
  • Design and implement effective response and recovery protocols to enhance school emergency management.
  • Create a sustainable action plan that includes training, exercises, and ongoing evaluation to maintain and improve the school's EOP.
