Objective:

The course objective is to provide participants with a practical learning experience focused on Emergency Operations Center (EOC) planning support skillsets, enhancing their understanding of planning responsibilities, essential documentation development, and information management across multiple agencies to support effective EOC operations.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe the components and functions of the National Qualification System (NQS), the National Incident Management System (NIMS), and Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs).
  • Perform key tasks aligned with Planning Support skillsets to contribute effectively to EOC operations.
  • Develop action plans and essential EOC documentation that support incident response and planning efforts.
  • Devise and implement planning tasks and strategies that align with the operational rhythm and objectives of an EOC.
  • Manage planning processes and facilitate policy decisions through appropriate internal and external channels, while supporting continuous improvement of planning documentation.
