The course objective is to provide emergency management leaders with critical skills that are needed to be able to apply personal leadership styles in the context of emergency management. Advanced II will provide participants with the essential skills needed to lead EM programs at the leadership level and will be essential to building the foundation for collaboration by bringing EM leaders together to share their experiences and establish a network. Advanced II will enable participants to gain knowledge necessary for understanding and developing themselves as leaders, develop critical thinking and decision-making skills, develop personal influence and communication skills, lead through resiliency, and motivate and lead others. In addition, Advanced II will provide an opportunity to explore the importance of ethics, values, and accountability. Sharing best practices, lessons learned, tools, and documentation will allow leaders to have a firm understanding of Federal, State, and local EM programs, as well as how those programs can be effectively leveraged to support State and local needs and requirements.
