Description

Objective:

CYBR2111 (Introduction to Cyber Systems) is an 8 week course that includes 10 days of training in four different areas (Windows, Unix, Networking, and Security). This course provides concepts for students to carry out business in the digital environment. Classroom instruction, discussion and exercises focus on different operating systems, networking, cyber defense and cyber offense items.

Learning Outcomes:

  • modify the implications of file and folder attributes, including permissions and file times, and describe how those attributes are affected by move, modify and copy operations.
  • explain the function of processes, threads, libraries, execution states and other code execution concepts.
  • classify how actions will affect the metadata of files, such as timestamps, on Unix systems.
  • integrate Command Line and GUI tools into the Network Analysis process.
  • classify the properties of the Data Link layer into MAC and LLC Sublayers.
  • summarize the Steps of responding to an incident in chronological order.
  • select the appropriate placement for network monitors within a network.
  • describe the process of code injection
  • differentiate between various types of implants
  • list the core set of operating system features and capabilities implied by supported versions of the Windows kernel
