Description

Objective:

The course objective is to enhance and strengthen student's (ILR Level 2- Limited Working Proficiency) functional use of the language by stressing active language production and accuracy to cultivate a language analyst capable of excelling at more than passive tasks.

Learning Outcomes:

  • transcribe content of an authentic Persian Farsi audio or video into Farsi script
  • identify essential elements of information from text and audio material
  • write an essay or response to a prompt in Persian Farsi
  • produce a research paper in Persian Farsi
  • define the meanings of selected vocabulary by context or use of a dictionary
  • answer questions related to Persian Farsi text and audio
  • research subject matter in Persian Farsi for written and oral presentations
  • produce and present oral presentation in Persian Farsi.
  • translate authentic Persian Farsi script into clear idiomatic English
