Description

Objective:

To provide the student with knowledge about the Acquisition Management System at NSA, and the Defense and NSA Acquisition Management processes; and the skills to write an Acquisition Management Plan, including a plan to conduct an Acquisition Strategy Meeting to obtain plan approval.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe the role that the Acquisition Management System plays in the Integrated Management Framework
  • Use the ACQWEB to learn more about acquisition, retrieve information and document templates, and streamline work effort
  • Define and apply all phases of the NSA System Acquisition Management Cycle
  • Understand the role of the financial Acquisition Spend Plan (FASP) and be able to use the automated system to manage execution year funding
  • Choose an appropriate contracting strategy for an acquisition
  • Write an Acquisition Management Plan
  • Use the Defense Acquisition Management Framework and NSA Circular 8-1 to conduct acquisitions
  • Understand how and when to use each category of acquisition
  • Prepare for and conduct an Acquisition Strategy Meeting
