Description

Objective:

This is a hands-on, on-line certification test which uses performance-based scenarios and tasks to measure each testing candidate's ability to manage and complete practical, day-to-day activities using Microsoft Word 2013.Successful testing candidates will establish their ability to perform a number of Word tasks in Microsoft Word 2013, such as creating and managing documents, formatting text, paragraphs and sections, creating tables and lists, applying references and inserting and formatting objects.

Skills Measured:

Version 1:Create and manage documents: Create new blank documents; create new documents using templates; import files; open non-native files directly in Word; and open a PDF in Word for editing. Navigate through a document: Insert hyperlinks; create bookmarks; and use 'Go To'. Format a document: Modify page setup; change document themes; and change document style sets. Customize options and views for documents: Change document views; use zoom; customize the quick access toolbar; customize the ribbon; split the window; add values to document properties; use show/hide; record simple macros; assign shortcut keys; and manage macro security. Configure documents to print or save: Configure documents to print; save documents in alternate file formats; print document sections; set print scaling; and maintainin backward compatibility. Insert text and paragraphs: Append text to documents; find and replace text; and copy and paste text. Format text and paragraphs: Change font attributes; use find and replace to format text; use format painter; set paragraph spacing; set line spacing; clear existing formatting; set indentation; highlight text selections; add styles to text; change text to WordArt; and modify existing style attributes. Order and group text and paragraphs: Insert breaks to create sections; create multiple columns within sections; add titles to sections; and force page breaks. Create a table: Convert text to tables; convert tables to text; define table dimensions; set AutoFit options; use quick tables; and establish titles. Modify a table: Apply styles to tables; modify fonts within tables; sort table data; configure cell margins; use formulas; modify table dimensions; merge cells. Create and modify a list: Add numbering or bullets; create custom bullets; modify list indentation; modify line spacing; increase and decreasing list levels; and modify numbering. Create endnotes, footnotes, and citations: Insert endnotes; manage footnote locations; configure endnote formats; modify footnote numbering; insert citation placeholders; insert citations; insert bibliography; and change citation styles. Create captions: Insert endnotes; manage footnote locations; configure endnote formats; modify footnote numbering; insert citation placeholders; insert citations; insert bibliography; change citation styles.
