Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide experienced contracting personnel with the knowledge and skills to apply the unique aspects of contracting for architect-engineer services pursuant to Public Law 92-582, the Selection of Architects and Engineers statute.

Learning Outcomes:

  • identify relevant statutory contractual requirements and procedures as they relate to the selection of an A-E firm for federal government contracts
  • evaluate requirements related to negotiating, awarding, managing and administering contracts to meet federal government regulatory requirements
  • discern the essential elements that effect administration of the A-E contract, such as environmental law, small business preference requirements, qualification and selection, and allowable and reasonable costs that effect compliance with federal laws, regulations, and best business practices
  • recognize and guide processes related to quality management
  • identify and execute necessary performance reporting and documentation for the federal system
  • be aware and sensitive to matters related to the execution, modification and close-out of the A-E contract
