Description

Objective:

To present project management concepts, tools, and techniques needed to meet the specific needs of IT projects: covered are all phases of the IT project life cycle-concept, requirements, planning, design, construction, delivery, and closeout.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Have an understanding of the strategies and skills necessary to manage IT projects of any size
  • Utilize tools to enhance IT project management capabilities, as well as understand the success factors and risks involved in managing information technology projects
  • Set goals tied to stakeholder needs
  • Effectively utilize the project management team, and use project management tools to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Gain an understanding of all areas of an IT project including management, hardware, software system integration, and human resources
