Description

Objective:

The course objective is to give the participants the knowledge to present the basics of managing federal architect-engineer contracts, including laws, processes, methods and steps of contracting.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Determine the applicability of the Brooks Act Procedures in selecting an architect-engineer A-E firm
  • Negotiate, award, manage, and administer a resultant A-E contract
  • Satisfying government mission requirements and successfully comply with the laws, regulations, guidance, and business decisions

  • The Brooks Act pertaining to its implications, Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) clauses and regulates federal architect-engineer A-E contracts, working with advertisements and Request for Proposal (RPF), performance work statement, selection procedures, cost principles, government estimate and RFP, negotiation, quality management, A-E contract administration, the roles and responsibilities of the government contracting officer or representative
