Objective:

Legal Considerations in Government Contracting (CON 216) introduces the legal foundations and sources of law relevant to the procurement process, including authority and ethics.

Learning Outcomes:

  • By the end of the course, participants will be able to outline the legal and ethical principles that apply to Government contracts
  • Explain key policies and procedures for filing protests against a federal acquisition
  • Identify criminal, civil, and administrative remedies for fraud
  • Select the processes and procedures for terminating a contract
  • Identify key terminology used in contract law
  • Identify the fundamentals of the legal process and how they apply to contract formation and administration
  • Identify the legal obligations of both parties when a contract performance issue arises
  • Identify formal disputes resolution procedures under Contract Disputes Act (CDA)
