Description

Objective:

To transform program managers into multi-program leaders. To conceptualize a strategic vision for multi-recreation programs, fund and resource them (human, assets and financial), and monitor an ever-changing recreation environment at the installation.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify current customers, target markets and project trends in recreation to develop strategies for customer-driven programming
  • Evaluate current program effectiveness and external factors to identify program strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
  • Incorporate the research from recreation MIS reports into strategic planning
  • Identify the risks associated with recreation programming and develop strategies for implementing a Risk Management Plan
  • Use a systems approach to formulate a vision for recreation programs that incorporates current recreation initiatives and processes
  • Assess the influence (and positive and negative affects) of personal leadership behaviors on recreation programs, customers and the workforce
  • Develop strategies to leverage analyses, personnel, finances, and infrastructure to maximize programs and services in a changing environment
