Description

Objective:

To provide the CYS staff with essential knowledge and skills to develop a Mobilization and Contingency (MAC) Plan, how to monitor, implement, and evaluate it in order to provide continued care and supervision of children and youth during military deployments, natural disasters, and emergencies.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify indicators of emotional stress among children and youth and apply ways and strategies to mitigate them
  • Examine the importance of community resources and ways to use them effectively during contingencies at the installations
  • At the end of this course, the student will be able to explain the purpose and importance a Mobilization and Contingency (MAC) plan
  • State the importance of using a team approach
  • Define various types of MAC situations
  • Identify various phases of MAC planning process and the actions to be performed during each of them
  • Name the MAC planning tools
  • Create a successful MAC Plan for unknown and unforeseen situations (e.g. Bird Flu Pandemic)
  • Relate how the CYS MAC plan fits within the Garrison Emergency Operation Command team and the State and Federal Emergency Operations plan
  • Evaluate and revise the MAC plan
